RAIL ENDS for GreatFence Fence Panels

$5.50

You do not need these mounts for every panel-to-post connection because our pre-punched (routed) line, corner, end and t-3-way posts do not require them.  These mounts are only used for stair-stepping fence panels (vs. racking) for hills and slopes.  They are also popular for applications where you would rather attach one end of a fence panel to an existing structure (house, building, wall, or column) in lieu of using an End Post.  Rail Ends are sold individually.  They are not sold in pairs.

Description

  • For stair-stepping two of our heavy duty aluminum fence panels on a hill.  See Hills.  See Blank Posts
(two stainless steel powder coated painted-head screws included)
  • For transitioning and connecting two different height fence panels to one post.  See Blank Posts (two stainless steel powder coated painted-head screws included)
  • For connecting a fence panel to a house, column, building or wall in lieu of using an End Post. (pickup stainless steel anchor screws locally, based upon the material type of your existing structure)

Mounts are easy to install and make for a nice tight clean fit!

Uniquely shaped to match our non-squared, designer beveled horizontal rail which is included for free on all fence panels (and gates)!  When you receive your shipment, take one mount to your local hardware store and tell them the type of material you’re mounting to and they should be able to provide you with proper anchor bolts/screws.

Straight Mounts are also used when “stair-stepping” 2 fence panels…that is, connecting 2 fence panels to a post at different heights. In this scenario, you want to make sure that you use Blank posts so that you can decide where to connect each fence panel to the post…on site during installation.

How many straight mounts do I need?

That depends on the number of horizontal rails in your, specific fence panel configuration.  If you have a 2 rail aluminum fence panel configuration, then order 2 mounts for each “panel-to-structure / blank post connection.   For 3 horizontal rails, order 3 mounts.   And, 4 rails would require 4 mounts.  You always need to order one mount for every rail in your fence panel.

Helpful Tip #1:   Do not use these mounts with any of our punched posts.  Always use our blank posts for stair-stepping or transitions; this gives you (or your installer) much more flexibility to make adjustments on-site.  Always order longer posts than the minimum recommended.

Helpful Tip #2:   Many jurisdictions require that you must have less than 4 inches of spacing between the vertical pickets.  Therefore, you may need to trim/cut the horizontal rails on each end of any aluminum fence panel that you plan to use along with these mounts.  That’s because the use of mounts extends the panel out from the post (or structure) as opposed to when you insert a fence panel into a post.  Trimming GreatFence aluminum fence rails is easy.  Use any hacksaw or metal blade electric saw.
