Great Fence aluminum fence
for swimming pools are all about child safety!
Are you buying an aluminum
fence and gate system to go around a swimming pool?
Have you checked with your Homeowner's Association (HOA) or the city
that you live in for any aluminum pool fence and safety pool fence
restrictions?

Pool safety fence
restrictions differ throughout the United States...even within
the same state. It is your responsibility to check with
your homeowners association or city to find out what
restrictions you may or may not have in regards to installing a
fence around your pool. Some jurisdictions (and many rural
areas of the U.S.) have little if any aluminum fence swimming
pool restrictions which means you can disregard the
following information if you are in a jurisdiction with no
restrictions.
Many,
but not all,
jurisdictions follow BOCA which require:
A: Aluminum Fence and
gate system is at least 48"high, B: There must be
45" of free, vertical space between the bottom horizontal rail
and the next rail up on each fence panel and gate (the reasoning
is that this rule will make it difficult if not impossible for
little children to use the fence/gate system as a ladder),
C: If not, then the spacing between all vertical pickets
must not be greater than 1 3/4",
D: The distance between the ground and the bottom of the
fence/gate system cannot be more than 4", E: all
swimming pool gates should be self-closing and self-latching,
F: all swimming pool gate latches must be at least 54"high
(Magna Latch). |

to ANY of the following fence panels or gates (scrolls and/or Dog Panel
would allow a child to step up and over...into the pool area)

We lower the bottom
horizontal rail (at NO additional cost to you) on aluminum fence
Style 3 at 54"h to meet BOCA's 45" rule. STYLE 1, STYLE 2,
STYLE 5, or STYLE 6 are BOCA Compliant, at 5' high (we will drop
bottom rail to meet BOCA's 45" rule).
OPTION 3
We offer 2 styles, STYLE 7
and STYLE 8 which have double the amount of vertical pickets on
each panel and gate. The vertical pickets are only around
1 1/2" apart and therefore prevent children from being able to
climb up and over the panel or gate. Check your local pool
fencing restrictions OR fax us a copy of the code in your area
to see if your jurisdiction allows these 2 styles as an
alternative to the above options. Typically, there is no
"45 inch vertical spacing requirement" when you use the
following 2 optional fence/gate styles. |

We carry BOCA's aluminum pool fence recommended self-locking gate lock,

Magna
Lock
is a vertical, child-safety, self-locking gate latch which meets the
54"h rule...EVEN for a 48"high fencing and gate system. This
special lock can be installed....extending above the top of a gate or
lowered for higher fencing systems...just to the top of the gate.
